TESOL is the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. You'll also see it referred to as TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language - or ELT - English Language Teaching. ELT and TESOL are actually the most up-to-date terms, as they lose the idea it's a "foreign" language people are learning; however the most common term is TESOL, which is what you will see throughout the site.

Cactus TESOL is an independent advice and admissions service working in conjunction with some of the top names in TESOL and TESOL training.

With so much often conflicting information on the internet as to what TESOL is and isn't, which qualifications lead to the jobs and which don't, our aim is to help you find a clear route from what you're doing now, to what you want to do in the future.
