TEFL
course and TEFL Jobs in Egypt
Within Egypt, Cairo
offers the best opportunity for work and courses. Cairo,
the Triumphant City, forms one of the biggest urban areas
in the world. Lonely Planet describes it thus: “Cairo
isn't a gentle city. Home to more than 16 million Egyptians,
Arabs, Africans and sundry others, the 'Mother of the World'
is an all-out assault on the senses. Chaotic, noisy, polluted,
totally unpredictable and seething with people, the sheer
intensity of the city will either seduce or appal.”
Cairo is an incredible
24-hour city full of life and mystique, with its honking
horns, children playing and merchants selling in the streets.
Architecture from Cairo’s five millenia of history
jostle for position within the city - mudbrick houses
can be found next to modern office blocks, and no one seems
to have a problem with it. Apart from the pyramids, just
beyond the city walls and visible from the taller buildings,
TEFL jobs in Cairo appear to be fairly
abundant, with the usual mix of quality organisations taking
you only with what they consider “the right qualifications”
down to the more “back alley” schools of English
which might settle for less. As ever, the schools which
demand the best qualifications, might not pay the best,
nor have the best resources, though this generally tends
to be the case.
