Course Description
You will work with professional trainers with experience of teaching and/or training in Europe, Asia, Australia, USA & the Middle East in both the commercial & voluntary sectors. This broad range of experience is reflected in the person-centred training you will receive during the course and the on-going support given in finding the right job after the course.
The course is very intensive and concentrates on the practical rather than the theoretical so that you graduate with the skills required, enabling you to go into your first teaching job. You will learn about best practice in English language teaching (ELT) by using up-to-date teaching methods as well as modern technology. Your course will focus on quality in your teaching by tailoring the CELTA syllabus to the needs of a group.
CELTA worldwide
The Cambridge CELTA is widely regarded as one of the most important initial teacher training courses in the world and is recognised by schools worldwide.
The course is divided into:
- Methodology i.e. techniques and strategies for teaching
- Language awareness i.e. grammar, vocabulary, language function and phonology
- Supervised and observed TP, teaching English to groups of learners at two levels, minimum of 6 hours in total
- Observation of experienced teachers, including your trainers
- 4 written assignments, to help you reflect on the course content
- Guidelines for further professional development after the course
All CELTA centres are accredited by Cambridge ESOL and the course will be assessed by a representative from Cambridge to ensure that standards are being maintained and the tuition you receive meets their syllabus requirements.
