Course Description

One of the best-known and most popular advanced TEFL/TESOL qualifications in the world, DELTA is a flexible way for experienced English language teachers to progress further in their careers.

DELTA is an internationally recognized qualification which can help you to:

- extend your knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of English language teaching
- critically examine your current beliefs and practices as a teacher
- apply your new knowledge and understanding to your current teaching role
- extend your knowledge of English language teaching in contexts other than adult learners
- develop your career and apply for more senior roles.

If you have substantial experience of teaching English to speakers of other languages, and are ready to progress in your career, you need DELTA.

There are three DELTA modules:

Module One Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching
Module Two Developing Professional Practice
Module Three Option 1: Extending Practice and ELT Specialism
Option 2: English Language Teaching Management

1. Module 1- Written examination
The written examination is externally set and marked.

2. Module 2- Coursework There are five coursework assignments. Four of these are internally assessed; one is externally assessed. In addition there is overall external moderation of your coursework by Cambridge ESOL. All of the assignments integrate theory and practice.

3. Module 3- Extended assignment The extended assignment is a case study. It is externally marked.
