Course Description
The overall aim of this course is to provide a thorough TEFL / TESOL training, which includes a balance between the theory and methodology of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and to thoroughly prepare you for teaching in any overseas environment.
During this course you will acquire both the necessary skills and knowledge to become an effective and dynamic ESL teacher. There are three important areas of focus to achieve this goal:
- An excellent grasp of important grammar rules
- A good base of different teaching techniques
- A solid database of proven activities for use in the classroom for both adult and young learners
You will receive instruction and practice in teaching the four basic language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and subskills (vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar). You will complete a minimum of six hours of observed practical teaching with real foreign language students. You will also observe classes taught by experienced ESL teachers.

School Details - Heredia
Known as the province of flowers, Heredia has long been a favorite destination for those coming to Costa Rica. In Heredia, you get the best of all worlds: wonderful nightlife, a safe environment, a true cultural experience and tons of places to explore such as the Poas Volcano, the La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Barva Volcano, Café Britt tour, Inbio Park and many cultural festivals just to name a few. Despite being within a short bus ride from the capital city of San Jose, Heredia is quite quaint and safe.
The school has four classrooms for practical teaching, a reception and a lounge area. Enjoy coffee and fresh fruit in the tropical garden area every morning and during breaks. The building is also equipped with wireless Internet.
