Course Description
This course is ideal for new teachers as well as for experienced teachers who would like to improve their teaching skills as well as gain more job security.
The Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is one of the world's most recognised TEFL qualifications and is accepted in most countries.
The course is intensive over 4 weeks and consists of 120 contact hours, including 6 hours of teaching practice.
The maximum number of participants on a course is 12, which allows for individual attention and creates a friendly and personal atmosphere.
The syllabus followed is laid down by Cambridge and includes
- input session
- observation of experienced teachers
- lesson planning
- observed teaching practice
- written assignments
There is no exam as assessment is continuous and based on teaching practice, written assignments and trainee development.
Candidates should have as a minimum entry requirement, a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into higher education with an awareness of language and a competence in both written and spoken English.

The main school for Adults is centrally located in the lively seaside resort of Sliema.
The school is fully air-conditioned, has 100 bright, modern classrooms, a cafeteria, a bookshop, self-study centre and an internet cafe with WiFi access.
A variety of hot and cold snacks, beverages and full lunch/dinner meals at discounted prices is available from the hotel next door.

Successful trainees may be offered employment with the school when there is availability.
They may also be given opportunity to work in other schools in England (London and Torbay), South Africa (Cape Town) and USA (Florida).
