Course Description
This creative, practical and resourceful course is ideal for teachers wanting to update their skills and refresh their knowledge.
Since 1978 the school has been running junior courses all year round in constant collaboration with foreign teachers. At their request they have now also designed very successful teachers' courses for Primary or Secondary teachers putting to good use their experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language to school-age students in monolingual groups.
The course combines language development and teaching methodology to allow teachers to refresh and improve their skills. The course is suitable for those who haven't taught before as well as more experienced teachers. Teachers can also take one to one sessions for additional topics in any area that is not covered by the course eg Teaching Business English, Teaching Exam classes.
Programme content
- A 2-week course offering creative methodology, practical classroom activities and a bank of resources to take home.
- 42 hours total contact time - 30 hours language development & 12 hours teaching methodology.
- Many practical ideas to be used with a variety of levels and in different situations.

Optional
- On site observation of Globe Junior school teachers - monolingual or multilingual classes depending on the time of year.
- Visits to local schools - subject to availability and time of year.
- Please note visits to schools and observations of Globe teachers usually take place during the language development classes.
- A range of excursions, sports and cultural visits to choose from on arrival - cost not included.

School Details - Exeter
Located in the city centre close to all the stations and shops, this school has been teaching English to students from around the world since 1978. Lessons are taught in small groups of 6 maximum, in a warm and friendly environment. The school boasts 10 classrooms equipped with whiteboard, tape recorder, television and portable overhead projector, as well as a self-study centre, a student lounge, kitchen facilities, 2 terraces and a garden with views over the valley where students can relax.
Exeter has a lively and fun atmosphere with good shopping, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs and clubs and is within 15 minutes of some of the most beautiful coasts in England, including the Jurassic coast, a World Heritage site, and near to both Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks. Cornwall is just a short journey away  renowned for its surfing, the Eden Project and wonderful scenery, and the English Riviera towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham are within reach. London is only 2.5 hours away by train and weekend visits to the capital are no problem.
