Lesson Planning
Our TEFL program also makes time at the end of each day for lesson planning assistance so that you will have plenty of help and guidance for the preparation of classes. You will be given lesson plans, teaching materials and suggestions during the TEFL course to provide you with a range of ideas and resources for your own teaching practice.
Input Sessions
The course will give you a good understanding of teaching methodology, language awareness, lesson planning and an array of student-centered lesson plans and helpful techniques for teaching English abroad. Throughout the TEFL course each lesson is supplemented by informative worksheets, tips and suggestions as well as a list of useful titles for further reading.
In addition, our trainers, who are highly qualified with 20 years of experience between them teaching English abroad, are always available to offer lots of support and advice with the selection of appropriate materials, course books and supplementary worksheets to create enjoyable and engaging lessons for your students.
The teaching methodology lessons, during our TEFL course cover a variety of topics including teaching vocabulary, error correction, classroom management, one-to-one teaching and the use of coursebooks, authentic materials, video, and computers in the classroom. Throughout the four-week TEFL course you will also be given survival Czech lessons, see demonstration lessons from experienced teachers, learn about English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and take away a variety of practical activities.
Teaching Practice
The teaching practice component during the TEFL course consists of 8 to 10 hours of teaching throughout the course, and gives you the opportunity to teach classes and one-to-one lessons at a variety of levels. The classes are made up of friendly and motivated Czech students. Teaching practice takes place four afternoons a week and allows trainees to work cooperatively in a supportive atmosphere with valuable feedback and comments from your trainers at the end of each lesson.

TEFL Course Schedule
The TEFL certificate program takes place over four weeks, Monday through Friday from 10:00am to about 6:30pm with several breaks and a one hour lunch. Below is an example of the lessons and training sessions:

Accommodation Options
The school is able to arrange affordable housing for their students during the course. The benefit of the housing is that the apartments and hotel are located in the same part of Prague as the school.
The school works with a landlord who rents apartments and hotel rooms to students for a reasonable price of 8000kc to 8500kc/30 nights. (about 11 Euros/night for 30 nights). The apartments are in different buildings and are all within a 20 minute distance to the school. You have the option to arrange your own housing in Prague during the course but we can not assist with this. Expect to pay between 30 and 40 Euros/night for a hotel room or room in an apartment on a short-term basis. Hostels cost around 12 to 16 Euros/night and do not offer much privacy or security for your belongings.
The student housing is available from the Wednesday before the course until the Tuesday after the course, sometimes later depending on availability.
Internet access is not available in the student housing but there are plenty of cafes throughout the city. Just across the street from the school there is a mall with a food court and internet access. The school also has free internet access.
The school takes the responsibility of booking your housing. Therefore we are held responsible for the housing fee if you cancel less than 4 weeks before the course start date. When you pay your course deposit you are also reserving a place in the student housing. The housing fee needs to be paid in cash to the housing owner when you arrive. This is non-negotiable. You can not cancel your housing reservation whenever you want. You will not be able to cancel your student housing option anytime after 4-weeks before the course start date. So, plan accordingly. If you change your mind about the student housing you need to let us know at least 4 weeks before the course. Otherwise you will be expected to pay your housing fee upon arrival no matter where you decide to stay. You will not be allowed to start the course until your housing fee is paid.

This TEFL/TESOL course is accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education. The certificate is recognized by employers worldwide. The school is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce, Czech Republic and IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.
