Course Description
- What is the Modular Delta?
There are three Modules and candidates can take any combination of modules. Each Module is assessed independently and is separately certificated.
Module One: Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching
Module Two: Developing Professional Practice
Module Three: Extended Practice and ELT Specialism (E.g. Teaching young learners, English for Special Purposes, Teaching one-to-one)
- How is the full time Modular Delta course structured?
The full time course will be a six week intensive course, with attendance from Sunday to Thursday. Input, teaching practice and feedback will all be integrated into the day and the evenings will be used for reading and writing assignments and preparing lessons. This course will be extremely demanding and candidates can only be accepted if they can demonstrate they are fully prepared for the workload.
- Can I choose which Modules I take?
The school offers integrated courses that includes relevant information for all three Modules, and the teaching practice will form part of the coursework assessment for Module 2. Each individual candidate can decide which Modules they would like to be assessed on and pay the relevant Cambridge entry and assessment fee.
- What do I need to do the Modular Delta?
The most important quality is a desire to reflect on and develop current classroom practice. The Cambridge Delta is a very intensive course and requires a real commitment from candidates. All candidates should have the required time and level of dedication to complete all the course requirements.
Practically, potential Delta candidates also require a high standard of spoken and written English, the ability to research and write suitably academic background essays, the facility to reflect on classroom practice and provide and accept constructive criticism. They must be self-motivated and able to work to deadline. They must have a reasonable level of computer literacy and good organizational skills.

They will also provide a detailed report upon course completion which acts as a reference. There may also be the possibility to take up teaching work at this school if possible.
