Important Information
Any trainee who submits an application less than two weeks before the program start date will be charged an additional, non-refundable $50 late fee.
International students requiring an I-20 for full-time study in the United States must also pay a $60 courier fee as part of the application process. Also, medical insurance is required for student-visa participants on full-time program only starting at $65 per month.
Scholarships & Discounts
A $200 Academic Scholarship is available for applicants who meet one of the following conditions:
Recent College Graduate Scholarship:
Available for those who have completed an undergraduate degree in the past 12 months*
Peace Corps Scholarship:
Available to returned volunteers attending within one year of their close of service, and to current applicants who would like to gain teaching skills and experience before receiving an assignment *
*Applicants for these scholarships must provide documentation proving eligibility.

Course Description
The course provides you with an in-depth analysis into teaching both ESL (English as a Second Language) and EFL (English as a Foreign Language).
In addition to learning how to prepare lessons for all English proficiencies, the TEFL Program content includes the following topics:
Teaching
Participants examine the theory and practice of teaching:
* Conducting a needs analysis and learning to manage a classroom for groups, mixed level groups or individuals
* Presentation, practice, and use of language in the classroom
* Planning individual lessons which includes using textbooks/resources/testing/media & equipment
* Learning how to adapt/use appropriate lesson materials
* Assessment of learners' language-learning achievements and learning to use alternative methods of assessment
* Teaching business English/and E.S.P. (English for Specific Purposes)
Learning
Participants focus on theories behind language learner and the relationship between teacher and learner:
* Learner/teacher roles
* Learner styles/group dynamics
* Establishing learning objectives
* Language-learning theories
* Language-learning strategies, including role-play, group, pair, and individual work
* Error correction
Job Assistance
One component of the TEFL Program is focused on career development, and will address resume writing, job search strategies, and interview techniques. The trainers, teachers and staff at the school all have several years experience teaching ESL both in the United States and abroad, and are valuable resources. You will also be able to contact many of our TEFL alumni who may be working in countries or local communities where you might like to teach. The program will also focus on culture and living overseas for those who aspire to work overseas.

School Details - Boston Central
This center is dedicated to teaching English as a Foreign Language to foreign students from around the world and the US through small, high quality, interactive classes in a stimulating environment. The school is conveniently located in the heart of Boston, and is accessible to the MBTA:
On the Green and Red Lines , we are two blocks from the Park Street stop.
On the Orange Line, we are located immediately outside the Lafayette Place/Temple Place exit (Forest Hills platform) or one block from all other exits at the Downtown Crossing stop.
On the Blue Line, we are a 5-minute walk from the State Street Stop.

Help for Jobs
Job placement assistance is included free of charge for all successful trainees of our training courses.
We aim to get each trainee into a suitable ESL job in the country of their choosing.
This process starts when our trainees complete a resume at the start of the course. Tutors and trainees then work together during the course to develop their resumes while our administrative staff works with our network of partner schools in Latin America, Asia and Europe to organize interviews.
