Customer Feedback
Quality of the school and trainers were excellent. The course was extremely intensive but rewarding.
-Jackie Hall-
The school was great - fantastic students and location. The course was great and I've learnt a lot. I feel confident enough to be a teacher now after this month. The trainers were great - both seemed to have a slightly different approach but both were very encouraging and knowledgeable.
-Tessa Okell-
The school was excellent and the trainers were very helpful and supportive throughout the course

Course Description
What is TKT?
TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) is a Cambridge award testing professional knowledge for English language teachers.
It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhere in the world. It does not test teaching ability or a teacher’s language proficiency.
TKT focuses on:
• different methodologies for teaching
• the 'language of teaching'
• the ways in which resources can be used
• the key elements of lesson planning
• classroom management methods for different needs
Who is TKT for?
• TKT can be taken at any stage in a teacher’s career.
• It is suitable for teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners all over the world.
• It is also ideal for people who would like to teach English but have not yet started teaching.
• Teachers need to have at least an intermediate level of English - level B1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – This is equivalent to Cambridge PET, IELTS band score of 4, TOEFL computer-based test score of 133)
TKT is ideal alongside or in preparation for Cambridge ESOL's well-established teaching awards: ICELT (In-service Certificate in English Language Teaching) and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults).
What does TKT involve?
TKT has three modules. These can be taken together at the same time, or separately, in any order, over a period of time. For each module there is a test of 80 questions which lasts 80 minutes. Candidates must select the correct answer and mark this on a computerised answer sheet.
Module 1 - Language and background to language learning and teaching
Module 2 - Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching
Module 3 - Managing the teaching and learning process
You receive a grade from Band 1 (lowest) to Band 4 (highest). TKT is not a pass/fail test.
Please note that there is an examination entry fee of £25 per module. Please include these fees with the payment for your course.
