Course Description
The International TEFL Diploma Course
The course consists of 148 classroom hours, of which there are 12 hours of classroom-based teaching practice and 8 hours of teaching real foreign students while observed by your trainers. On the course there are a maximum of twelve trainees to two qualified native-speaker trainers. All teaching hours are observed by professional trainers and individual written and oral feedback is given to each trainee after each lesson.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees receive the International T.E.F.L. Diploma. Trainees also have the option of choosing the dual certificate program, with the goal of attaining both the International T.E.F.L. Diploma as well as the T.E.F.L.-Czech Certificate. The T.E.F.L.-Czech Certificate is a qualification for trainees who wish to teach English in the Czech and Slovac Republics. It will show potential employers that you:
- have received training in specific areas of difficulty for
Czech-speaking students
- have a knowledge of the Czech school system
- have had basic training in the Czech language
This qualification has been designed by the school who feel that is important for their trainees teachers to understand the customs and traditions, and also to learn a bit about the educational system and language before going into the job market. By doing this graduates will hopefully enjoy and get the most out of living in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
Visa information for non-EU applicants
The school also provides US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African and other non-EU citizens with full Czech working visa support upon completion of the program.
Course payment information
Once you are accepted onto the course, you will be asked to pay your £295.00 deposit to Cactus TEFL. The remainder of your course fees and any accommodation fees should be paid directly to the school no more than three weeks before the course start date. Your accommodation are paid in cash upon check-in.
Accommodation Options
The school can arrange accommodation for trainees in one of several family hotels or apartments located near to the school. Your accommodation will either be within walking distance or a short bus or tram ride away. All accommodation can be booked for 5 weeks.
Each trainee will have their own room and share bathroom and kitchen facilities with up to two other trainees. The approximate cost for the course duration (including utilities) is £275.00.
The school also provides university dormitory accommodation with single and double rooms from £226.00.
The school can also assist you with budget accommodation in local in campsites or hostels.
School Details - Brno Czech Republic
Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic, and is the cultural, historical and administrative centre of Moravia. The city is located in the south-east of the country where the Svitava and Svratka rivers meet. Thanks to its central position in eastern Europe, it is easy to travel to Prague, Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna. Surrounded by forests and rugged landscapes, Brno is a cheaper and a less-hectic alternative to Prague.
Brno has a rich cultural history which goes back to before the 11th century. The styles of Renaissance, Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau, as well as modern functionalist architecture, can been seen throughout the city. Today Brno is firmly on the Czech tourist trail and is well-known for its international trade exhibitions and motorcycle grand prix.
