Customer Feedback
Greece is a beautiful country, and Corinth was a perfect place to be. The school was a very nice place to study, the course was really good, and the trainers were all nice and wonderful. I never regret my choice.

Course Description
Language Awareness & Teaching Skills
Each morning, there are three hours of sessions on language awareness and teaching skills. Language Awareness sessions aim to consolidate your knowledge of grammar and phonology, and provide practical ideas as to how these can be taught. The Teaching Skills sessions develop your skills in areas such as teaching grammar and vocabulary, creating your own materials and correcting students’ errors.
Teaching Practice
In the afternoon, you will prepare lessons with the support of the trainers, using the resources provided at the training centre. The majority of our teaching practice is at a local school of English, providing you with practice teaching classes of Greek children and teenagers. This gives you realistic preparation for exactly the kind of teaching situation you'll be in when you start your career on completion of the course. Each lesson is observed by one of the trainers and after the lesson you receive feedback both in written form and in a discussion where you are given support and guidance in developing your teaching skills.
For the first few days of the course, before you begin your own teaching, you have the opportunity to observe the trainers teaching classes of Greek students. In preparation for the observation of live lessons, you will participate in guided observation of lessons on video. You will also have the opportunity to have lessons in an unknown language – usually Greek – in order to experience the lessons from the perspective of the learner.
Course Structure
The course is full-time for four weeks, and is highly intensive. Morning sessions are from 10.00 am until 1.15 pm. Depending on the time of year, feedback and lesson planning generally take place between 2.15 and 5.00 pm, and teaching practice between 5.00 and 8.00 pm. Weekends are free, and optional excursions and other social activities are offered.
Trainers
All our trainers are highly experienced teachers of English, with a minimum of an MA. Several of our trainers are also university lecturers. We maintain a minimum ratio of one trainer per five trainees.
We have run this course every month since 2004.
Assessment and Certification
The main component in the assessment is the practical teaching. You have plenty of opportunities for practice, and only the best four grades from ten hours of teaching are counted. A short test on language awareness and weekly written assignments make up a small proportion of the assessment.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive the internationally recognized certificate and also a reference letter giving a detailed breakdown of your performance on each component of the course.
Entry Requirements
If English is your first language and you have an educational level that would enable admission to higher education, your application will be accepted automatically.
If English is not your first language you must either have an internationally recognized qualification in English at C2 level, such as Cambridge Proficiency, or complete a pre-course task and interview before your application is accepted.
