Customer Feedback
Overall, I have really enjoyed the course here. The staff is informative, supportive and above all willing to help with even the smallest issues you may have. The course is well structured and although it's intense, it's manageable due to the guidance you receive. I fully appreciated the lesson planning and feedback sessions and thanks to this I have developed a variety of skills to be a TEFL teacher. I now feel prepared to enter the profession. I was amazed at the quality and depth of the sessions; in addition I am amazed at how much I have learned in four weeks!

I found this course extremely useful. The tutors were very well prepared and easily accessible. The director was available all the time for questions and support and was very encouraging and helpful with the projects and assignments. The schedule is perfect for somebody who wants to work at the same time. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to get an excellent training experience.

Course Description
The Trinity Certificate TESOL course is for people who want an internationally recognised qualification and an intensive up-to-date and practical course of teacher training.
Trainees are divided into teaching practice groups on the first day and begin their teaching practice on the second. Each group is assigned a practice class of real Spanish students and a teaching practice tutor. Teaching practice includes a feedback session where the teaching practice tutor discusses the lesson with you and gives you guidance on the teaching point for the following day. Halfway through the course the practice class is changed to provide trainees with an opportunity to teach classes whose English is at a different level.
During these sessions you will acquire and practise a wide range of teaching skills found in mainstream current English. These sessions cover areas of grammar and phonology and are designed to provide trainees with a basic working knowledge of these subjects and how to teach them effectively.
When you enrol for a course (following a successful face-to-face or telephone interview), you will be sent a substantial pre-course task, designed to raise your awareness of English grammar and phonology. Depending on your prior knowledge, this can take anything up to 20 hours to complete. You will be asked to refer to "How to teach English” (by Jeremy Harmer 2000), an excellent introduction to English Language teaching.
During the course 3 assignments are given. These include a record of your experience learning the unknown language, a case study of one of your students with a diagnosis of their language difficulties and a project where you create original material to be used with your learners.
Accommodation Options
If necessary the school can find you economically priced accommodation with an English teacher or Spanish person. This offers the opportunity of making contacts for those wishing to remain in Barcelona, as well as getting a little help on the course! A room in a shared flat will cost you between 380-450 Euros per month.
If you apply for accommodation through the college, the school can guarantee that you will be provided with an adequate room with bedding, a desk and a quiet place to work and study. You will have access to the kitchen and cooking facilities. The price quoted per month is paid directly to your host and is inclusive of bills. This does not include use of the telephone as this is at the discretion of your host.
You will be given an accommodation application form once you have been accepted on the course. The school will do their best to take account of your preferences indicated on the accommodation application form but no guarantees can be made as its dependent on availability at the time of your course. The school regularly monitors the standard of the accommodation provided and you will be given the opportunity to comment on this at the end of the course.
School Details - Barcelona Girona
This school is among the most highly regarded teacher training institutions in Europe. Last year more than 300 teachers gained their Tesol certificate in this centre. The Barcelona centre also provides language and skills training to the local and international business community as well as offering a full range of general English classes in the school itself.
Our philosophy has been the same since the first day: to provide high quality training in a friendly and professional environment. In fact we believe you can't have one without the other. Our trainees consistently mention the dedication and experience of the team, both pedagogic and administrative; they praise the support they receive and the open, relaxed nature of life in the school.
The school is centrally located in Gaudi's magnificent art nouveau (modernism) neighbourhood: The Eixample. The area, like most of Barcelona, is commercial and residential. You will find no shortage of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a metro stop right next to the school and numerous buses stop outside.
Our school occupies one floor of a typical 100 year old Barcelona apartment block with high ceilings and a bright, spacious feel. The school is open from 9 am to 9.30 pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday from 9 am to 2pm.
Barcelona
Barcelona will go down in history as an essential all-time experience. Different people will be seduced by different things, so take your pick, it will it be the almost arrogant individuality of a city with its own language and history, the effortless juxtaposition of Gothic and Renaissance, Byzantine and Romanesque, the dangerously inviting boutiques, or quite simply that old Spanish knack of bringing out lazy, sangria-filled lunches under a hot Mediterranean sun. Quintessentially Spanish yet unique in so many ways, make of Barcelona what you will. But whatever your vice, don't fight it - because you can be sure nobody else is.
