Customer Feedback
The school's facilities were excellent and the tutors were absolutely fantastic. I've felt that I made great progress and learned a lot of things. The course was very well structured and looking back now just give me a confirmation that everything was planned exactly when it should have been done. It was very demanding, a lot of information but the way it was conveyed means the students assimilated very well. - Marius Codrea - December, 2010
The school was good and the trainers were intelligent, well trained professionally and helpful.
-Silvia Marilena Doncu-

-Hugh Sprot-

-Thursa Swindall-
The school was easy to get to, very pleasant, modern classrooms and the trainers were fantastic - helpful and supportive as well as providing high-quality input sessions.

Course Description
This Cambridge CELTA course is held at one of the most prestigious English & Teacher Training centres in Hungary.
As you may have heard from former trainees this course should prepare you for one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your life.
The CELTA Course consists of the following components:
- Teaching Practice and feedback
- Input sessions
- Observation
- Written Work
- Tutorials
On the full-time course, Teaching Practice is usually in the morning from 9.00am, while input is in the afternoon. The course is 5 days a week for four weeks and it takes up all of your time as there are also a number of written assignments, as well as lesson planning and reading outside the course.
Teaching Practice (TP)
Trainees are put into Teaching Practice groups of 5 or 6 people at the start of the course. Every trainee teaches regularly, this normally being twice a week for 45 minutes each time. After class there is a feedback session with your peers and tutor.
Trainees work with two different levels of students on the course.
Input Sessions
The input sessions are highly practical, covering approaches, techniques and language analysis. They are directly related to TP and trainees are expected to incorporate these elements into their own teaching.
Observation
Trainees observe experienced teachers teaching their regular lessons, and in some cases the trainers teach the practice lesson students for all or part of a day's lesson. Altogether trainees can expect to do at least 6 hours observation of experienced teachers.
Tutorials
There will be at least two tutorials during the course, when trainees meet with one of the tutors individually. The aim of these is to discuss progress, problems, etc. Tutors are available to discuss any problems at whatever stage of the course.
Written Work
There are four longer assignments on the course, for example a case study on students and their language problems, or an analysis of a number of selected language points for teaching. Please note that the assignments will require extra time at school above the course hours.
Grading and Assessment
You are assessed and graded on the following areas:
- Teaching Practice
- Written work
- Self-awareness
- Professionalism, including reliability, self-awareness, receptivity, being a good colleague etc.
- After successfully completing the course, trainees receive a certificate.
Please note that it's possible to fail this course. A 'Fail' grade is awarded to candidates who fail to meet criteria set. This is the decision of the course tutors involved and it is irrevocable. This course is also assessed by an external assessor.
At the end of the course the school endeavours to provide every support possible to trainees in finding a suitable teaching position, wheter they choose to stay in Hungary or are interested in working somewhere abroad.
Airport Transfer
There is an excellent (and economical - about 6 GBP) Airport Minibus operating door-to-door service between the airport and any point in the city, there is no need for a pre-arranged airport transfer. The teacher training administrator will provide you with all necessary instructions on what to do on arrival, and how to reach your flat with utmost ease.
Accommodation Options
The school arranges flats for those trainees on full-time courses who need them.
Please note: the GBP prices below are a guide only. The exchange rate is very volatile at the moment!
Shared accommodation single room in a shared flat: 85,000 HUF / person for 4 weeks for a shared apartment: approx. GBP 300 for 4 weeks
Single apartment: 110,000 HUF for 4 weeks for a single apartment :approx GBP 400 for 4 weeks housing one person only (not couples)

Help for Jobs
This school provides support for trainees in finding a teaching position in a number of ways:
- The Assistant Head of Teacher Training (or a Senior Trainer) meets with the group during the course in order to offer concrete and industry-specific advice on how to find employment in EFL - whom to contact and how, what form a CV should take, what to ask in an interview, how to screen job offers, and tricks for ensuring that your CV is at the top of the pile.
-Trainees are then sent (upon request) a booklet of ’post-CELTA experiences’ written by the school\\\\\\\'s graduates, which gives further specific advice on how to attack the job market and what difficulties to expect whilst carrying out a jobsearch.
- In addition, the school is approached regularly by schools in the region looking for teachers - they know that the school runs CELTAs and turns out excellent teachers - such approaches are passed on to trainees through email and through the school facebook page. In fact, it is not uncommon for a trainee to finish the course and walk more or less directly into a position.
- For positions further afield - all over the world – the school helps trainees make good use of the school’s affiliate network (more than 200 schools in 40 countries), as well as identify quality teaching institutions in whatever geographical area they\\\\\\\'re interested in. They have a well-developed network of contacts, including many former CELTA trainees, who help keep in touch with the opportunities around the world, and inform on employers who should be avoided.
It\\\\\\\'s in the school’s interest that every CELTA \\\\\\\'graduate\\\\\\\' finds a teaching position that suits them, both in terms of location and in terms of the support they\\\\\\\'ll get when working there - so that they can put what they\\\\\\\'ve learned into practice and continue to develop as a teacher.
