The school can help you to find a host family in San Francisco. A single room (halfboard) in a host family costs $230, a shared room $191.
Most people stay in a residence or hotel/club. The school has a list they can send you. They are all within walking-distance of the institute. People who stay in them say that they offer good value for money, but that they are certainly not luxurious! (Good hotels in San Francisco are very expensive. You can expect to pay between $900 and $1500 per month depending on the hotel, time of year, and type of room). Stays at Residence Clubs start at $399 per week.
We recommend that you book early, especially for accommodation during the summer period.
School Details - San Francisco downtown
This school is a language teaching and teacher training institution which has operated in San Francisco for over twenty years. It was the first institution to provide short, practical training programs in TESOL in the USA and the first to offer Cambridge University approved teacher training courses such as the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults or CELTA. St. Giles International San Francisco belongs to a group of language schools and teacher training centers founded in England in 1955, with centers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and China. The San Francisco center runs CELTA teacher training courses throughout the year and is the largest, most established Cambridge CELTA training center in the United States.
San Francisco
San Francisco has been the impressive backdrop of many a Hollywood blockbuster, and it doesn't take much imagination to picture famous car chases through its hilly streets or strategic fights at the top of Golden Gate bridge. In real life, however, the city is even more enthralling. Sitting on the tip of a 30 mile peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and the San Francisco Bay to the north and east, its long, precipitous streets provide peeks to the glistening water below, morning mist rises mystically over the bridges and traditional tramways offer relief to sore legs. It is a city that delights visitors and locals alike, with its relaxed charm, bohemian chic and cultural spice. Top this off with a dazzling nightlife and you've got one of the most enchanting cities on America's west coast.
