How to choose?
There are countless online TEFL courses around, and it can be very confusing knowing where to start and which to choose. You can choose according to the length - but remember the number of hours is just a guideline from the course creators, as the very nature of online learning means that you can take as long as you like over a course, or alternatively, zoom through it in double quick time.
Advice on choosing an online TEFL course
Your choice may depend on the tutors: how well do they train you, how immediate is the interaction with them, how experienced are they, what qualifications do they have?
You can choose according to additional content: does the course include a module on young learners, business teaching, 1 to 1 teaching, ESL teaching etc.
You can choose according to mode: is it all by email, is there a website, are there extra DVDs or CD Roms, are there online forums where you can get instantaneous feedback from the other course members and your tutor?
Most people will be seriously influenced by their budget: how much can you afford to spend? The shortest is not necessarily the cheapest.

Blended CELTA Course
This unique blended learning course is ideal for those who want to gain a full CELTA qualification but don't have the time to dedicate to a full-time face-to-face course. Assessed and moderated according to the same criteria as a face-to-face course, this new course is 12 weeks in duration and comprises 120 hours of teaching time: students are required to attend 16 evenings of teaching practice, conducted in groups with an experienced teacher trainer to give you feedback, while the rest is completed online. The online CELTA tasks and materials can be accessed at a time that suits you, giving you the flexibility to fit your training around your other commitments. An added advantage is the extra time and support that the online course provides, enabling you to reflect on and develop what you have learnt.
