Course Description
PTLLS is designed to equip a wide range of teachers, trainers and facilitators with the skills they need to develop learning. It is a very practical course with assessment based on written assignments and micro-teaching sessions. You will need to submit a portfolio of evidence for assessment. The course is practical and you will be able to achieve either Level 3 or 4.
The course is the first unit of the DTLLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector). Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate from City & Guilds.
The PTLLS course covers: initial assessment, learners' needs, assessment, methods and resources, planning and delivery, inclusion, diversity and equality, feedback and evaluation.
A variety of teaching and learning methods will be used: case studies, group discussions, lectures, research, teaching practice (30 minutes long), role - play and simulations. You will have to submit a portfolio of evidence.
On completion, you can progress to the next stage, the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS). This school also offer a Planning and Enabling CTLLS Unit 2 Top Up module, starting on Friday 24 September.
School Details - London East Finchley
This is a college of adult education which celebrated its centenary in 2009. Situated in leafy and pleasant surroundings right next to East Finchley tube station on the Northern Line, the school is easily reached from all over London. They currently have some 6,000 students and are known for their friendly and supportive learning atmosphere.
