Course Description
The International TEFL Diploma Course
The course consists of 148 classroom hours of which there are 12 hours of classroom-based teaching practice and 8 hours of teaching real foreign students while observed by your trainers. On the course there are a maximum of twelve trainees to two qualified native-speaker trainers. All teaching hours are observed by professional trainers and individual written and oral feedback is given to each trainee.
Upon successful completion of the course, trainees receive the International T.E.F.L. Diploma. The trainees also have the option of choosing the dual certificate program, with the goal of attaining both the International T.E.F.L. Diploma as well as the T.E.F.L.-China Certificate. The T.E.F.L.-China Certificate is a China-specific qualification which shows potential employers that the bearer has received teacher training in specific areas of difficulty for Chinese-speaking students, and also survival Chinese language training. This qualification has been designed by the school in order for graduates to enjoy and get the most out of living in a country. It is important for English teachers to understand the customs and traditions, and also to learn a bit about the educational system and language before going into the job market. China-TEFL lessons are held in the mornings before TEFL Diploma classes each day so that every trainee can attend.
Course payment information
Once you are accepted onto the course, you will be asked to pay your �175.00 deposit to CactusTEFL. The remainder of your course fees and any accommodation fees should be paid directly to the school no more than three weeks before the course start date.
Accommodation Options
Suzhou accommodations are provided in residential hotels. The school partner hotel is located down the street from the school. It provides a comfortable standard and gives a large discount to Boland people, so we generally recommend staying there. The hotel will give you an air-conditioned/heated room with bathroom in a hotel style room. The accommodation is located close to the school. The rooms all have internet access and there is no extra charge for this. There is a cleaning service everyday and sheet change every three days. The rooms all have an area for storing cups and plates and also a kettle for boiling water. The hotels are decorated in traditional Chinese style and we are happy to send you on pictures on request. The rooms are very centrally located with easy access to shops, restaurants and the school. The price is for 35 days and each extra night will be charged pro rata. Payment can be made on arrival and there is also a 1,000 RMB deposit payable on arrival.
Accommodation costs (35 days):
- 4,000 RMB for a double room.
Payment is made directly to the hotel.
School Details - Suzhou China
Suzhou is a major tourist attraction in China and is often referred to as The Venice of the East. Located in the Jiangsu Priovince in the Yangtze Delta zone, Suzhou is a city with over 2500 years of history. The city is laid out in a traditional grid-like formation of canals and streets, and its famous gardens can be found throughout the city. Public transport is very good and there is easy acess to nearby Shanghai, and direct train routes to Beijing.
The school has been providing TEFL Training since 1992, and is well-known in China. Its TEFL Diploma graduates find work worldwide. The school ensures that trainees receive individual attention and plenty of job guidance and placement options. There are excellent local, national and international employment opportunities, and the school has great links with local Chinese primary and secondary schools, and also with and private schools.
Located in a modern building with a wide range of multi-media facilities. There is also free unlimited broadband internet access for trainees. A monthly job fair is also held onsite for TEFL trainees to meet prospective employers and find out more about the job market in China. Trainees are granted lifelong access to the school's online job site. The school also provides a useful accommodation and tourist and working visa service both before and after the TEFL Diploma course.

How will this school help me find a job? How does job placement work?
Job placement is comprehensive and geared towards each trainee's needs. Some trainees just want to know the basics, get some job leads and go through the application procedure on their own. Other trainees use our services to assist them through the entire process, from following a lead all the way down to the job interview and the contract assessment and signing. The school runs the jobs site online for program graduates for lifetime access to current job openings and also co-hosts a monthly teaching jobs fair on site in Suzhou that all trainees and graduates can attend free of charge.
