The dates and price below are for a two week course. It is possible to extend this to 3 weeks (�780) or 4 weeks (�1040). A �50 enrolment fee is included in the price below.

Course Description
Methodology and Language Awareness Courses for Teachers of English
The courses follow a modular approach incorporating 2 hour language awareness classes each morning and 2 hour methodology seminars and workshops each afternoon. Also included is a daily 1 hour Personal Study Programme
The courses will:
. Develop your awareness of current trends in language teaching
. Give you new ideas and materials to use in your own classrooms
. Update and develop your awareness of contemporary everyday English
Areas covered will include:
. motivating language learners
. contemporary culture in English-speaking countries
. analysis of teaching methods and materials
. lexical approaches
. task-based approaches
. incorporating authentic materials
. learner-based teaching
Ideally, applicants are expected to be teachers with some teaching experience. All applicants are asked to complete a needs analysis form so that we can ensure that to the best of our ability the course meets your needs and wants.

Course content:
* Language Classes
The course is designed to have two hours of language improvement in the mornings. This morning sessions will be at an advanced level and will be in a multilingual group. In this session the student will have the opportunity to develop his/her knowledge of the English language in addition to being exposed to EFL methodology
* Personal Study Programme.
One hour a day will be spent on our Personal Study Programme. The tutor will devise a tailor made programme for each student according to his/her needs.
* Methodology Class.
The afternoon session will focus on methodology of EFL teaching. Students will reflect on the morning session and will analyse aspects of the lesson they have attended. There will also be the opportunity for peer teaching.
* Observation of Experienced teachers.
At least once a week, the morning session will include observation of experienced English teachers. The student will reflect on these observations in the afternoon methodology session.
Accommodation Options
Homestay half-board at �120 per person per week or self-catering residence or homestay at �90 per person per week
School Details - Newcastle
The school was opened in 1978, founded on the principles of bringing people of the world together and raising the standards of English language teaching.
It is a friendly English language school with a maximum of 200 students, so there is very much a " personal touch". The school has a video room, a self-access room and free emailing and internet access in our computer suite. There is a super cafe with Wi-Fi access for lap-tops and other portable devices.
The school is located in the centre of the lively university city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, close to theatres, galleries, museums, restaurants, night-clubs and pubs as well as relaxing gardens and parks. The city has a world-famous reputation for friendliness and fun and was recently voted one of the ten most exciting cities for nightlife in the world!

This school's World Human Resources recruits hundreds of teachers each year to work in affiliated schools. Most contracts with the schools are for one year.
