Course Description
The CELTA Certificate is the most widely recognised qualification for entry to the ELT profession. It is a well-established qualification which has an excellent reputation both overseas and in the UK. This 4-week full-time course consists of lectures, workshops, lesson observation, teaching practice and feedback.
Your teaching practice sessions will be at a minimum of two levels. Initially, these lessons are quite short and you receive considerable guidance from your tutors. As the course progresses these lessons become longer and you are expected to make more decisions about what and how to teach. By the end of the course, although you will still require some support, you will be ready to teach in most English Language Teaching situations throughout the world.
Assessment is continuous and all aspects of your coursework are taken into consideration: attendance, assignments, teaching, participation, attitude and potential as a teacher. You are clearly informed of your progress in tutorials and receive written feedback on your lessons and coursework. Grades and certificates are awarded to successful candidates by UCLES, the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate.

This established teacher training centre is conveniently located near to the University of Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan University.
It benefits from an intimate and friendly atmosphere, and is run by a truly expert team of trainers, who have years of teacher training experience behind them.
Resource-wise, the school can offer a wide selection. Trainees will work with current coursebooks, CD's & DVDs.
Course participants will have free access to the computer room and the building has wireless internet access. Printing and photocopying are free and there's also a small kitchen for trainees to use.
Car parking is available and the Centre is well served by public transport.
