School Details - Riga

The school was founded by its present director, Natalya Zelenina, in 1993. Since then we have grown year by year and are currently the biggest private language school in Riga with over 1,800 students (young learners, teenagers, exam, adult and business groups) and more than 50 teachers (of English and other languages). We are part of the International House World Organisation (IHWO), which is a network of language schools worldwide committed to implementing high standards of quality and innovation in education and training. There are currently over 120 schools in more than 40 countries. Working for an organisation like this offers unparalleled opportunities for teachers looking to pursue a career in EFL. The school is located in the heart of Riga, a couple of minutes walk from the Central Station and five minutes from the old town. The frontage of the building that houses us is an example of Jugendstyle Art Nouveau. The school occupies 4 floors and covers about 1,100 square metres, offering 34 classrooms, reception, office, teacher’s room, kitchen and a meeting room / auditorium called the ‘English Club’. The staff room has two photocopiers and there are seven computers available for teachers (two in the staff room and five in the net-classroom for preparation purposes as well as internet and e-mail access). We have a well developed resources library.
