The Course

The Trinity CertTESOL is a qualification recognised worldwide. It provides many thousands of people with a career that combines academic study, teaching and teacher management, and continuous association with other cultures in the UK and around the world.

The 4 week full-time course is intensive but exciting and will bring out the best (and sometimes the opposite!) in you, but will leave you, if you are prepared to work hard, with a great feeling of achievement.

The courses develop a spirit of camaraderie, cooperation and self-reliance.


You will:

- study the phonology and grammar of English

- watch a number of experienced teachers

- learn to use a range of teaching media

- prepare course materials

- discover how foreign students learn to use a language and finally teach classes yourself.


Course Content

- The following are the key areas:

- The methodology of English teaching and learning, and using it.

- The grammar system of the English Language.

- English pronunciation.

- Lesson planning and teaching practice.


Main Course Elements

1) Tenses and grammar.

2) Pronunciation.

3) Productive skills: speaking and writing

4) Receptive skills: listening and reading.

5) Presentation and practice techniques for grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

6) Classroom management


After the Course

Along with the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification, the Trinity College TESOL Cert. is recognised across the world as a stamp of quality in skills obtained for the teaching of English to foreign students with the advantage of including teaching English to children as part of our course.

You will be able to use the qualification either, in a teaching post within the school itself, or at other language schools worldwide.

This TEFL course consistently produces graduates with good grades and excellent job prospects.

Accommodation Options

Homestay accommodation

TEFL trainees coming to London have peace of mind that they can return at night to a stable and quiet setting. Any hiccoughs, which may occur, can be dealt with without delay.

Prices - A room with a homestay costs approximately £440 for 4 weeks, arrive Sunday leave Friday of last week.

Please note that these rates are for room only.

Guest houses and B & Bs

Guesthouse, bed and breakfast, accommodation is available, and the school has examined this option very carefully. Rooms are up to a very high standard, but booking is urged well in advance.

Prices range from £25 - £45 per night. A rate for the whole month is usually negotiable.

Hotels

Hotel rooms are sought-after and should be booked early. For current rates please check with the school.

School Details - London Carnaby Street

The school is centrally located off Oxford Street and close to popular shopping areas such as Carnaby Street and Libertys.

The building has the facilities space and back-up to support trainees through their TEFL/TESOL programmes.

Work is regularly offered to trainees from the school. The school also places graduates from TEFL courses worldwide through a job-search service which has been developed and improved over the last ten years.
