We concentrate on practical ideas, showing you dozens of essential classroom techniques for ensuring your lessons are a success. During the weekend, you will cover all the fundamental principles of teaching English.
No experience is required - the course is open to everyone. Non-native English speakers are also welcome. We have had participants from Austria, Germany, France, Greece, Japan, Turkey, and Spain on our courses. If you are not an English speaker, you should be an advanced student - equivalent to CAE or CPE exams, or IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 600. To get the most out of our course you need to have a healthy sense of curiosity and be interested in other languages, people and cultures.

The courses run from 9.00am on Saturday to 5.15pm on Sunday. That’s two days of practical advice, and essential guidance about being a confident classroom teacher.

Q: Do I need an 'Intro' for a job?
A: No - but added confidence and ability will help you find a better job, perhaps with better pay. On completion of the course, we will give you a detailed certificate, which can be used in support of a job application. We also include a session offering practical advice about how to get a job teaching English without a formal qualification.
Q: How practical is the course?
A: Very, you will work through the kind of activities students themselves do and learn through hands-on, practical tasks. Remember - You can also observe our teachers in action by coming in for the FREE extra day on the Friday before the weekend course,
Q: What can I do after the course?
A: Previous participants have managed to find teaching work in countries as varied as the UK, Japan, Germany, Latin America, Tibet and Spain. Quite a few people decide to go on to our Trinity Certificate courses as a result - and we always give them priority booking.
Q: Do I need an 'Intro' to get on a Certificate course?
A: No, but you will find the experience of an intro course will be invaluable. In particular, your familiarity with much of the essential terminology and basic classroom skills will give you a huge advantage. On our courses there is an additional benefit: namely priority booking for our Certificate courses.
Q: What happens if I want to do the course, but the dates don't suit me?
A: If you can't make the course you want or if we have to cancel a course, you are very welcome to attend the school to shadow one or more of our teachers at a special rate of just £25.00 per day or part day. This involves observing our fully qualified teachers in the classroom, and gives you really useful insights into the different elements of successful classroom teaching.
Q: I don't live in Bristol. Can you help me with accommodation?
A: Of course, we have about 50 host families in Bristol and can easily arrange half-board accommodation for around £15 per night.
