Course assessment, which is continuous and integrated, is based on classroom teaching practice and on written assignments. Final grades are validated by an external assessor appointed by the University of Cambridge, who visits each course to observe practice teaching and inspect candidates' portfolios of written work in order to standardise grading and monitor the courses.

Please note that the full-time course is very intensive and requires total commitment. There are three hours of lectures or workshops each day, as well as two hours of teaching practice with foreign learners, followed by discussion and evaluation. You should allow between two to four hours each evening for lesson preparation and writing assignments. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to fulfil the course requirements if you have any other obligations over this period such as a part- time job or a commitment to another course. You should also be in good health and be able to manage the stress arising from an intensive course of this nature.

School Details - Sydney Teacher Training

This TESOL training centre is the teacher training division of a major English Language School in Sydney. It was the first centre in Australia to offer teacher training programs leading to the University of Cambridge qualifications in teaching English as a Foreign Language. It is now one of the largest such centres in the world, preparing over 200 teachers each year on a range of TESOL programs. Training staff are highly qualified specialists in their field and course graduates go on to take up teaching positions all over the world.

As well as being excellent stand-alone programs leading to internationally recognised qualifications, most programmes provide pathways into higher postgraduate programs by articulating into university Graduate Diploma and Masters programs as credits at a range of prestigious Australian universities.

Sydney
Sydney really does have it all. The gleaming city centre with its futuristic skyline is connected across the winding bay by the arc of the Harbour bridge. The city boasts some of the world's best city beaches in Bondi and Manly, and the city centre has a nightlife that rivals any in the world. Despite a population of almost 2 million you can travel an hour inland and find yourself in the Blue Mountains stretching, unbroken, out of sight. Travel north or south along the coast and find yourself on miles of deserted white sandy beach. Rest assured, you will never want to leave!
