This school, part of an international network of schools, is located in the heart of town just 10 minutes walking distance to the cathedral. After more than 35 years of experienced the school decided to open a new school in the very heart of the Malaga city centre. It is a medium-sized Spanish language school in Malaga strategically located in the commercial and busiest area of the city, right next to the lively Calle Larios. The schools will offers high quality services including a wide range of cultural and social activities aimed at making student is experience as memorable as possible.

Sea, sun and art probably best define this trendy and fashionable city. One of the most important cities of Andalusia, Malaga offers a festive and open-minded atmosphere. With more than 11 hours of dazzling sunshine per day, it is no surprise Malaga is a sought-after seaside city. Nestled between the Mediterranean sea and mountains, Malaga benefits from a mild Mediterranean climate. The native city of Picasso and the home to numerous museums from the Picasso Museum to the Museo del Arte Flamenco, Malaga is also a major cultural centre in Southern Spain.

Course Description

Learn to plan and manage a Spanish class as a second or foreign language (ELSE) in 4 weeks. Initial training course aimed at future teachers of Spanish with and without previous experience. The course includes specialised methodology classes and practices with foreign volunteer students. Specially oriented for university students and graduates.

Course Structure
From 9.30 to 14:00 (first week)
Methodology of teaching of Spanish as a second or foreign language that contains the aspects mentioned above and practical tutorials for the preparation of afternoon classes.

From 15.00 to 17.30 (from the second week)
Practical classes with volunteer students and reflection with the tutor and classmates. These practical classes will be from Monday to Thursday. We grant this second part a special importance since it is here where the theoretical aspects learned in the morning sessions are put into practice. Classes are organized with volunteer foreign students. The schedules are always indicative and may be modified depending on the needs of each course. There will be an exchange of impressions about the practices carried out at the end of each class.

Portfolio
As a reflection of the entire learning process during the course, the teacher's portfolio should be completed, which will include relevant samples of the learning journals and practical classes. Said portfolio must be delivered on the last day of the course and it will be compulsory at the time of receiving the final grade of Pass / Fail along with the corresponding progress report. The final qualification of Pass will be indispensable to qualify for the recognition of the 6 ECTS credits through IL3 Continuing Education at the University of Barcelona.

Certificate
A certificate will be given at the end of the course if you have attended at least 90% of the methodology sessions and 100% of the practical sessions. This certificate will be accompanied by a detailed and personalized report. For graduates, graduates, graduates and students completing their final year of studies, the University of Barcelona, ??through the Institute of Continuing Education IL3, certifies the intensive and extensive face-to-face courses for the training of Spanish teachers with an accreditation that supports 6 ECTS official credits. The certificate will be issued in the form and deadlines set by the university itself.

The certificate of these 6 ECTS credits is an official recognition valid throughout the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). To obtain this certificate, the course must be passed with a Pass. It will be compulsory to present the certification of the degree, undergraduate degree, university degree or last year of career at the time of requesting this document.

Those participants who do not obtain the qualification of Pass will receive, in their case, a certificate of attendance with the computation of hours corresponding to the sessions of methodology and practices.

Entry Requirements
- You must be able to demonstrate your ability in Spanish to a very high standard: you should have a C1 minimum level of Spanish.
- Minimum 21 years of age (recommended)
- For the confirmation of a place it will be essential to pass an interview with staff of the teacher training department to decide if the course fits the profile of the candidate. This interview can be done by phone, Skype or in person at the school, by appointment.

Accommodation Options

All courses include: Shared flats
Single room in a flat sharing with members of the local population or other CELTA students. Common use of living room, kitchen, self-catering. Bed linen provided. Please bring your own towels.
Single room: 600 EUR for 4 weeks

Host family
Single room with half board: 760 EUR for 4 weeks.
Single room with half board and private bathroom: 880 EUR for 4 weeks.

Residence
For those who want to live with other CELTA teachers or international students. The rooms are fully equipped and include a kitchen with all necessary equipment for self-catering. Some have a common living room. Free WiFi and laundry service once a week provided. Room cleaning and bed linen change once a week included. Breakfast included.
Single room 880 EUR for 4 weeks. Extra nights: 40 EUR/day

Apartments and studios
Single studio with private kitchen: Room, own bath, small kitchen.The studios are very comfortable and have air-conditioning, heating, TV and WiFi. Bed linen and towels provided.
1500 EUR for 4 weeks. Extra nights: 65 EUR/day
