San Sebastian is the European Capital of Culture 2016. “Waves of energy” is the slogan of this exciting project.
The Basque country is one of the regions in Spain with the highest number of English learners, and there are employment opportunities in the area for successful candidates.
Our centre is located in the district of Gros which is 5 minutes’ walk to the Zurriola surf beach. The district shows a dynamic commercial activity, boosted by the presence of the Kursaal Congress Centre by the beach, where you can go to restaurants and "tapas" and "pinchos" bars to try our gastronomy.
There is a wide range of cultural activities throughout the year, with sports events like cycling, football, surfing, as well as the world famous San Sebastian film festival and its counterpart, the San Sebastian Jazz festival.
The city offers so many alternatives in a single area: internationally renowned cuisine, major music and film festivals as well as countless other festivities - the "Semana Grande", Carnival, the "Caldereros" or Tinkers' Festival, San Sebastian Day and so on - folklore, remarkable customs and traditions, marvellous scenery, beaches, mountains.
The school provides access to a variety of resources to support your learning. A well provided library, computers with internet access, audiovisual equipment, study room, leisure room with tea and coffee facilities.

Teaching English to speakers of other languages can be a highly rewarding career, offering you the chance to live and work in different countries. You will need an internationally recognised teaching qualification. Certificate in English Language Teaching Adults (CELTA) is highly regarded throughout the word.
CELTA is an initial qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience and opens up a whole world of exciting teaching opportunities. Because it is awarded by Cambridge ESOL, part of the world-famous University of Cambridge, you can rely on its quality and recognition.
The course is designed to help you develop effective and principled teaching practice. As well as receiving input from your tutors about key topic areas related to teaching English, you will also have substantial hands-on teaching practice to turn theory into practice.

Help for Jobs
The schools gives advice on how to search effectively for a teaching job and tips on how to prepare for an interview. They also help trainees write their CVs, both during and after the CELTA course. The centre provides trainees with a list of language schools looking for teachers and will also pass on any career and Continuous Professional Development opportunities at the school. Trainees are welcome to observe lessons at any of their premises.
You will also receive a personalised references for potential employers.
