Course Description
The Trinity Cert TESOL is a 4-week intensive, initial teacher-training certificate, which is accredited by Trinity College London and recognised worldwide.
It is designed for those with little or no experience of teaching English and enables them to embark on a career in the EFL profession. It is also suitable for experienced teachers who want to develop their skills in this area of teaching. It provides a firm foundation, equipping trainees with basic knowledge and highly practical skills in teaching techniques and methodologies to set them on their way in a new profession. The course involves over 120 timetabled hours and includes six hours of observed teaching practice with English language students.
The introduction to the theory and practice of contemporary English teaching is achieved through a combination of instruction, observation and extensive supervised teaching practice. You will have an opportunity to learn a 'mystery' language; dip into theories on second language acquisition; explore the English language; develop activities and materials suitable for the student-centred classroom; learn about a variety of methodologies and teaching techniques and much, much more.
The course is taught by qualified and experienced trainers who have been training on the Cert.TESOL for many years, as well as having accumulated many hours in English teaching classrooms around the world.
The typical day is 9.30am - 5.30pm. There will be input in the morning sessions and most afternoons will be spent putting the new skills into practice in the English language classroom.
Accommodation Options
The school has a network of basic and executive homestay accommodation. In summer months they can offer accommodation in university residences and they also have a good relationship with a local hotel.
