The course is organised around three modules, each of which is assessed separately. Course Organisation
The part time course offered by our centre covers all three modules within attendance dates but candidates may choose to take each Module separately.
Module I is assessed through a written examination marked by Cambridge ESOL.
Module II is assessed through a portfolio of assignments and observed lessons marked internally as well as through an externally assessed lesson by a Cambridge ESOL assessor.
Module III is assessed through an extended written assignment submitted to and marked by Cambridge ESOL.
DELTA course application procedure
Applicants must have experience of classroom teaching experience at a variety of levels, a first degree and, ideally, have attended a course such as the Cambridge CELTA or an equivalent course. However, each case is reviewed separately and candidates are invited to write a written language and methodology screening task and attend an interview: face-2-face, by phone or online (e.g. via Skype)
Our online course provision is offered via webinars in a VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) in which candidates attend live synchronous sessions with their course tutors and fellow course participants. The tutor and participants use webcams and microphones as well as text chat and the VLE is equipped with whiteboards, ability to see handouts, powerpoints, videos, shared screens and audio. They are supported through a DELTA course dedicated Wiki by way of asynchronous LSMs (Learning Management Systems). This includes organised pages and links, articles, and resources, as well as sample assignments by previous candidates, as well as videotaped seminars and sample lessons for preparation and revision.
Timetable
Our blended course is organised via Webinars & a 4-week face-to-face component in Athens.
