TEFL Job Search Results Argentina
A country known for its troubled economy, Argentina has a surprisingly large TEFL market,
which flourishes each time the economic situation stabilises.
This is the place to head when you want to leave Europe behind but aren’t quite
ready to let go of your European roots.
Buenos Aires has a distinct European feel to it, a result of its mixed population of
Spanish, Italian and German descendants. Spanish is the official language
and speaking it will prove a distinct advantage when you take up a teaching position there,
especially if you want to earn some extra money giving private lessons or teaching business
English outside class hours. The basic teaching salary will vary from school to school
and is usually just about enough to pay for your accommodation and living expenses, so if
you want to travel try to save some money before you go. Having said that, the cost of living
for a Westerner is cheap - with the devaluation of the peso, foreign currencies are strong and
your money will go a long way. So, with some small savings and a TEFL qualification, you have
your passport to discover Argentina’s delights. From the eastern plains and the enormous
mountain range to the west, from the bustling metropolis Buenos Aires to the stunning sights of Patagonia,
this country is as diverse as the students in your classroom.
